Celebrate The Legacy of Craig Taylor May 21

NEWBERG, Ore. --- Longtime Director of Athletics Craig Taylor is retiring from George Fox University after the 2016-17 season. Please join us as we celebrate Taylor's illustrious career Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. in the Canyon Commons for an open house reception.

Taylor has been a part of the George Fox community for more than 45 years and has served at the helm of the athletic department since 1988. He was influential in the transition from NAIA membership to NCAA Division III in 1995. During his tenure, he has left a mark and an impact on all the lives associated with George Fox Athletics.

In the end, he leaves behind a legacy of two NCAA Div. III national championships (baseball in 2004, women's basketball 2009); a list of coaches who have garnered conference, regional and national awards; and most importantly, a heart that longed to serve the Newberg community.

Taylor came to George Fox in 1971 as a junior forward for the men's basketball team. During his playing days, he helped the Bruins to their first-ever NAIA District II title. He graduated from George Fox in 1974 and earned a master's degree in education from Linfield College in 1975.

If you would like to send a greeting card or share photos of Craig, please email them to Patty Findley pfindley@georgefox.edu or mail them to 414 N. Meridian St. #6149 Newberg, OR 97132.
