Danny Cross is in his third year as the Sports Information Director at George Fox University where he oversees all aspects of media relations, communications, and is in charge of all statistics for the athletic department’s 17 sports.
As the Sports Information Director his responsibilities include; maintaining statistics for all sports, producing and distributing media releases, updating the department’s website (athletics.georgefox.edu), and handling the numerous social media channels.
Cross joined the George Fox staff in August of 2014 after spending the previous year as the Sports Information Director at Arizona Christian University. Cross was in charge of producing media releases, statistics, social media and maintaining the athletics’ website.
Before his time at ACU, Cross spent five years at California Baptist University. With his time at Cal Baptist, Cross worked as a student worker for four years and one year as a graduate assistant. As the GA, he served as the primary contact for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s volleyball, and the cheer team. He also traveled with the men’s golf program and helped cover their season. Cross also spent three years working for the Daily Bulletin serving as a sports writer covering high school football games in the Inland Valley.
Cross graduated from California Baptist University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies, concentrating in public relations and journalism. Cross received his Masters of Science in Kinesiology-Sport Management in 2012 from California Baptist.
In December of 2015, Cross proposed to his girlfriend Kelsey Totland and the two will get married in the summer of 2016.
