GFU FINAL QUALIFIER: George Fox to Host “NCAA Final Qualifier” Meet to Close Season
NEWBERG, Ore. – Bringing the 2012 outdoor track and field regular season to a close, George Fox University will host an “NCAA Final Qualifier” meet this Friday, May 18, at Colcord Memorial Field for athletes seeking one more chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships and unattached athletes who wish to compete. WEST COAST INVITATIONAL: Ojala Ties for Third in High Jump as Bruins’ Lone Rep
SALEM, Ore. – Hoping to improve on his current standing of 42nd on the NCAA Division III men’s high jump list, George Fox University’s Kai Ojala came up an inch short of his season and career best while tying for third in the event Saturday at the two-day West Coast Invitational track and field meet here at Willamette University’s Charles Bowles Track. NCAA TOURNAMENT: Bruins Shoot Tourney’s Best Round to Finish 7th in Nationals
ANGOLA, Ind. – With four players shooting sub-80 rounds, the George Fox University Bruins tied Centre College for the best round of the day and of the entire tournament with an 18-over-par 306 and finished seventh as a team as the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championship concluded Friday here at the Zollner Golf Course. NCAA TOURNAMENT: Bruins Tied for 9th after Shooting Best GFU Round in Nationals
ANGOLA, Ind. – With a third-day team score of 316 Thursday here at the Zollner Golf Course, their best round ever in the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championship Tournament, the George Fox University Bruins climbed from 10th into a tie for ninth with St. Olaf College heading into the final round coming up Friday.
