NEWBERG, Ore. --- For the second straight week, the George Fox baseball team has placed an athlete on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Sam Swenson becomes the second Bruin to garner the honor after AJ Valencia was named on the first edition. Swenson, a sophomore first baseman from McMinnville, Oregon, had himself a stellar week. He went 9-for-16 at the plate with three doubles and eight RBIs. He averaged .563 at the plate, .632 in on-base percentage and .750 in slugging. He currently leads the Northwest Conference in doubles (9), runs scored (16) and RBIs (17). Swenson leads the NCAA in doubles as well, while teammates Kyler Brudwick and Dillon Blankenship crack the top-10.

As a team, the Bruins lead the NCAA in hits (140), doubles (37), runs (106) and rank eighth in batting average (.350).

The Bruins take the field next against NWC rival Linfield Friday, Feb. 23 at 5 pm. The games originally scheduled have been moved to a single game on Feb. 23 and a doubleheader on Feb. 25.
