NWC CHAMPIONSHIP: Bruins Improve but Still Finish 8th in Season’s Final Tournament
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Although they were one of only three teams to shave a few strokes from their first day’s score, the George Fox University Bruins remained in eighth place out of nine teams as the 2012 Northwest Conference Men’s Golf Championship Tournament came to a conclusion Sunday here at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.

NWC CHAMPIONSHIP: Bruins Look to Move Up after Landing in 8th on Tourney’s 1st Day
KENNEWICK, Wash. - While their first-score on Saturday of 325 has the George Fox University Bruins in eighth place in the 2012 Northwest Conference Men’s Golf Championship Tournament here at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course, the Bruins are hopeful of climbing a notch or two higher in the tightly-packed standings before play concludes on Sunday.

WILLAMETTE INVITATIONAL: Bruins Hang on to Finish 2nd to Wildcats in Salem Event
SALEM, Ore. - Although their score went up by 11 strokes on the second day, the George Fox University Bruins maintained their hold on second place behind Linfield College in the four-team Willamette University Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament that came to a conclusion Sunday afternoon here at the Illahe Hills Country Club course.

SALEM, Ore. - Led by Mike Ulstad’s four-over-par 76, the George Fox University Bruins stand second to the Linfield College Wildcats out of four teams entered in the Willamette University Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament following the first round of action Saturday afternoon here on the Illahe Hills Country Club course.

WEST REGION INVITATIONAL: Bruins Remain in 8th as Texas Tournament Terminates
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Essentially treading water, the George Fox University Bruins shot a four-player 18-hole score of 329, 41-over-par, and remained in eighth place as the West Region Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament, hosted by Southwestern University, came to a conclusion Tuesday here at the Berry Creek Country Club.

MISSION, Ore. - Mike Ulstad shot a three-over-par 75 to lead the George Fox University Bruins, who are in seventh place in a tight middle-of-the-pack, on the first day of play in the Northwest Conference Men’s Golf Spring Classic which got under way here Saturday at the Wildhorse Resort Golf course just east of Pendleton.

Bruins Announce Men’s Golf Schedule Changes to Add Events in Texas and Salem
NEWBERG, Ore. - Due to the cancellation of two events that were on the original schedule, George Fox University men’s golf coach Matt Beck has announced that the lost tournaments will be replaced by two new ones for the Bruins, the West Region Invitational on Apr. 9-10 in Georgetown, Texas, and the Willamette Invitational on Apr. 14-15 in Salem, Ore.

PACIFIC INVITATIONAL: Bruins 7th as a Team as Gabrio Finishes 11th on Leaderboard
ALOHA, Ore. - A 10-over-par 154 by Aleks Gabrio, good for 11th place in the individual standings, highlighted the George Fox University efforts in the Pacific University Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament Saturday-Sunday here at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club, where the Bruins finished seventh out of eight teams with a 656 team score.

Gabrio Grabs BAA Weekly Award, HM for NWC Honors after Fine Fall Classic
NEWBERG, Ore. – After leading the George Fox Bruins to a sixth-place finish with a steady showing in the Northwest Conference Fall Classic on Oct. 22-23, Aleks Gabrio has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Men’s Athlete of the Week for Oct. 17-23, and also received honorable mention for the NWC Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week.

Lumsden Receives BAA Award for Oct. 3-9 after Play in Whitworth Invitational
NEWBERG, Ore. – After posting the best George Fox score in the Whitworth Invitational men’s golf tournament on Oct. 2-3 in Spokane, Wash., Chris Lumsden has named the Bruin Athletic Association Men’s Athlete of the Week for Oct. 3-9, the second Bruin golfer to be so honored this fall.

SPOKANE, Wash. – A distant eighth out of nine teams heading into the second and final day of the Whitworth University Men’s Golf Fall Invitational on Monday, the George Fox University Bruins were unable to close the gap on any of the teams ahead of them and finished eighth in the event here at the Spokane Country Club.

BANKS, Ore. – A consistent Aleks Gabrio shot a 77-77=154 to tie for 11th place in the individual standings, but that was not enough to prevent the George Fox University Bruins from slipping from fifth to sixth as the Pacific University Fall Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament ended Sunday here at the Quail Valley Golf Course.
