Plusquellec Leads Bruins in Willamette Cup

NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox men's golf team closed out day two of the Willamette Cup Invitational, Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins placed fourth out of seven teams.

The Bruins shot a team score of 312 on day two for a combined score of 627. Willamette won the tournament with a combined team score of 601. Corban and Linfield both finished T-2nd with a combined score of 623.

Alex Plusquellec was the hero once again for the Bruins, as he mirrored his day one results, shooting a 74-74=148 to finish T-2nd. With his Top 5 finish, the sophomore made the All-Tournament team. Zachary Mode improved in day two, shooting a 78 to finish T-12th (80-78=158). Brandon Sutton joined Mode at T-12th with back-to-back 79s (79-79=158).

Caleb An completed the four man scoring with an 82-81=163 to finish T-20th. Mason Mueller and Matt Preston competed as individuals for the Bruins with Mueller taking 38th (92-85=177), and Preston taking 39th (94-90=184).

Chase Lamothe was the medalist of the tournament with a 70-72=142.

There were 45 players in the field for both days.
