VENTURA, Calif. --- The George Fox men's golf team followed up its record breaking first round with a final round 290 team score to reset the 18-hole record at the CA State Intercollegiate.
The Bruins first round was historic, but the second round was even better, as the team re-broke yesterday's team score by one stroke with a 290. The Bruins finished eighth out of the tough 12 team field with a 291-290=581. The 581 by the Bruins also sets a new two-day team score in the men's golf records book.
Ottowa University – Arizona won the tournament with a 290-279 to finish seven-under-par. Chapman University placed second with a 285-285=570 six-under-par, while California Lutheran finished third with a 286-286=572 at four-under-par.
Both Alex Plusquellec and Mason Koch led the Bruins after two days, as the pair finished with a total of 142 at tied for ninth. Plusquellec shot back to back 71's to finish two-under-par, while Koch shot a 72-70 to record a two-under-par. Freshman Joshua Lackey finished his collegiate debut with a 72-74=146 to take T-26th, while Mason Mueller finished T-48th with a 76-75=151. Caleb Fernandez rounded out the Bruins' roster in 57th with an 86-75=161.

The Bruins have a quick turnaround with a two day tournament at the Puget Sound Fall Conference Preview Sept. 23-24 in Bremerton, Washington.
