Bruins In Third After Day One of Puget Sound Invitational

BREMERTON, Wash. --- The George Fox men's golf team competed at the Puget Sound Men's Invitational Saturday, as the Bruins have a firm grasp on third of five teams.

Recap:

 The Bruins shot a 306 team score after the first round, finishing nine strokes off of first place. Pacific Lutheran is in first after day one with a 297, while Whitworth is in second with a 304.

The Bruins placed all four golfers in the top 10, as freshman Joshua Lackety and senior Alex Plusquellec led the way with a first round 76. The pair sit tied for fifth, while Mason Koch and Clayton Rajewish are tied for 10th with a 77. Freshman Nathaniel Gurnee shot an 83 and is T-29th, while individuals Mason Mueller and Tanner Washburn had decent days.

Mueller shot a 77 and is tied for 10th, while Washburn shot an 84 and is tied for 31st.

Austin Darnell of Pacific Lutheran leads the field of 40 golfers with a one-under-par 71.

The Bruins complete the Puget Sound Men's Invitational Sunday, Sept. 24, with the tee time set for the morning.
