Bruins Place Third At George Fox Invitational

GEARHART, Ore. --- The George Fox men's golf team finished third at the George Fox Invitational Sunday, as the Bruins finished with a 303 team score in the final round.

Recap:

The Bruins finished with a 302-303=605 to place third out of seven teams. Willamette won the tournament with a 298-294=592, while Linfield placed second with a 304-297=601.

Alex Plusquellec led the Bruins after two rounds with a 73-73=146 to take tied for second. Mason Koch finished with a 72-77=149 to place tied for fifth. Both Plusquellec and Koch finished on the All-Tournament team. Joshua Lackey shot a 78-77=155 to take T-12th, while Clayton Rajewich shot a 79-76=155 to tie with Lackey. Mason Mueller singed an 80-78=158 to place 23rd.

As for the "B" team, the Bruins were led by Tanner Washburn, who finished sixth out of the seven teams. Washburn shot a 76-79=155 to take T-12th with teammates Lackey and Rajewich. Caleb Fernadez shot a 77-82=159 to place 24th. Christian Lou shot an 81-80=161 to take T-26th. Nathaniel Gurnne shot a 79-87=166 to place T-32nd, while Travis Wood signed a 108-100=208 to take 43rd.

Sam Hinton of Willamette earned medalist honors with an even-par  73-71=144.

What Comes Next:

The Bruins will head to conference next with the NWC Fall Classic Saturday, Oct. 14-15, in Banks, Oregon.
