Fog Cancels Day Two, Bruins Finish Second

WALLA WALLA, Wash. --- The second round of the Whitman Men's Invitational has been cancelled due to fog. The first round will stand as the final for the Bruins, who will close out of the 2017 season with a second place finish.

Recap:

The Bruins' first round score of a 299 was four strokes better than third place and eight strokes out of first place Whitworth University.

Joshua Lackey will finish at second place with a 1-under-par 71, while Alex Plusquellec also cracked the top-5 with an even-par 72 to finish tied for third. Mason Koch will come home with a 5-over-par 77 to place T-15th. Both Caleb Fernandez and Tanner Washburn finished with a 7-over-par 79 to finish T-22nd.

As for the individuals, Mason Mueller finished T-10th with a 4-over-par 76, Clayton Rajewich signed a 5-over-par 77 to take T-15th and Nathaniel Gurnee finished 35th with an 85.

Sam Stiles of Whitworth University becomes the medalist with a 3-under-par 69.

What Comes Next:

The Bruins will enjoy some well-deserved time off before they start the 2018 season at the Oregon Tech Invite March 10-11.
