Plusquellec Grabs Top Honor; Bruins Place Two On All-NWC Team

A Winning Tradition

  • One NWC Player of the Year (Alex Plusquellec, 2017-18)
  • Two Division III PING All-Region Team
  • Six All-NWC Athletes

HILLSBORO --- The George Fox men's golf team finished the 2017-18 season with three awards, as Alex Plusquellec became the first-ever NWC Player of the Year in the program and Plusquellec and Mason Koch earned All-NWC first-team.

Plusquellec capped off his senior season in the record books at George Fox, as the senior becomes the first Bruin on the men's team to earn NWC Player of the Year. He kicked off his senior campaign finishing fifth at the NWC Fall Classic with a 73-69=142 even par. He placed second at the NWC Spring Classic with a 1-under-par 73-70=143 and finished tied for first at the NWC Championships with a 72-71=143. He ended up losing the playoff, but his point total on the season was good enough to earn NWC Player of the Year. Last season, Plusquellec earned All-NWC second-team.

Koch moved up to an All-NWC first-team selection after earning All-NWC second-team in his freshman season. Koch placed fourth at the NWC Fall Classic, tied for ninth at the NWC Spring Classic and tied for sixth at the NWC Championships.

Both players finished the season ranked inside the top-100 on golfstat.
