Brian Story (with Brother's Assist) Named BAA Top Athlete for Oct. 12-18

NEWBERG, Ore. --- With a little help from his twin brother Kyle, men's soccer midfielder Brian Story has earned the Bruin Athletic Association Men's Athlete of the Week award for the week of Oct. 12-18.
Brian, a senior from Graham, Wash., scored the Bruins' first goal of the game and his second of the season at Willamette on Sunday, giving George Fox a 1-0 lead at the 35:55 mark of the first half. His six-yard header sent the ball into the lower left corner of the net, with Kyle Story earning an assist after crossing the ball following a short corner kick. It was the Bruins' first goal since a 2-1 win over Pacific Lutheran University on Oct. 3, ending a string of three straight games in which they had been shut out. However, the Bearcats rallied to tie the game and go on to a 4-2 win over the Bruins.
The Athlete of the Week Award for both men and women is presented throughout the Bruin sports seasons by the Bruin Athletic Association, whose mission is to provide George Fox student-athletes with an outstanding athletic and academic experience and to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the Bruin athletics program.
