Story's 9th Assist Garners BAA Weekly Honors for Conference Leader

NEWBERG, Ore. - Midfielder Kyle Story moved into the Northwest Conference lead in assists with a pass to twin brother Brian for a goal at Pacific Lutheran on Nov. 1, which has earned him the Bruin Athletic Association Men's Athlete of the Week award for Oct. 26-Nov. 1.  He also received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Kyle's league-leading ninth assist of the season came on a corner kick to the middle of the box, where Brian sent it home in the 58th minute to cut the Lutes' lead to 2-1 in an eventual 3-1 loss.  The senior from Graham, Wash., is also the conference leader in assists per game (0.50).  His assists total is the highest in one season for a Bruin since Kris Van Houten had nine in 2003, and is four short of the single-season record of 13 by Merrick Brownlee in 2001.

The Athlete of the Week Award for both men and women is presented throughout the Bruin sports seasons by the Bruin Athletic Association, whose mission is to provide George Fox student-athletes with an outstanding athletic and academic experience and to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the Bruin athletics program.  For more information about the organization or to become a member, visit the Bruin Athletic Association website.
