The Bruins bring the first half of their Northwest Conference schedule to a close with the conference co-leading and No. 23-ranked Pacific Boxers at home on Sunday. The Boxers were ranked No. 11 before suffering a tie and a loss over the past weekend. The Bruins will be out to snap a string of six straight losses and pick up their first win of the season.

Tickets: Ticket prices for George Fox soccer matches at the Austin Sports Complex, which is located at the corner of Villa Rd. and Crestview Dr. a mile north of the main campus, are $6 for adults and $3 for non-GFU students and seniors 55 and over. Children 6 and under who are not in school are free. George Fox faculty, staff, and students are admitted free with valid GFU ID; the ID covers immediate family members for George Fox employees.

Sat., Oct. 2 - L 1-5 at Pacific Lutheran
David Rickey gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead 15 minutes into the game with his first goal of the season off a pass from Sean Jany, ended a string of five straight games in which they were shut out. It was the only shot on goal the Bruins could manage, however, as the Lutes exploded for five unanswered scores. Elliott Davis made 9 saves in 77 minutes in goal for the Bruins.
Sun., Oct. 3 - L 0-4 at Puget Sound
The Bruins suffered their 7th shutout of the season as the Loggers scored 4 times on only 6 shots on goal. The Loggers limited the Bruins to three shots on goal - one each by Luke Andrew, Christian Reed, and Sean Jany. Davis had one goalie save in 76 minutes and Kasey Haugan one in 14 minutes for the Bruins.

* Rickey Gets BAA Award, HM for NWC Offensive Honors
Getting the Bruins off to an early lead at Pacific Lutheran with his first goal of the season and snapping a string of five straight scoreless games by the Bruins, David Rickey has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Men’s Athlete of the Week and received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Rickey, a senior forward from Richmond, Ind., scored at the 7:19 mark of the first half when raced through the Lutes’ defense to latch onto a Sean Jany pass and slot the ball under PLU keeper Brian Kostol from 10 yards out. It was the first goal of his career and the first lead for the Bruins this season.
Rickey is the third men’s soccer player to earn BAA honors this fall, joining forward Torrey Santiago and goalkeeper Danny Kamna.

* Coach Tim Tsohantaridis:
Tim Tsohantaridis (Barrington ‘ 77) is 57-60-8 (.488) in the third year of his second tour of duty and seventh season overall as head coach of the George Fox men’s eam. He led the Bruins to a 50-23-4 record from 1986-89, winning the NCCAA national championship in 1988 and earning NCCAA National Coach of the Year honors for that achievement. Counting a 7-6-1 record in one season (1979) at Barrington, he has a cumulative record in his eighth season as a college head coach of 64-66-9 (.493).
