GEORGE FOX 5, COLLEGE OF IDAHO 4: Bruins Edge Coyotes to Pick Up First Win of 09
BEAVERTON, Ore. – Stepping outside the Northwest Conference proved to be a good move for the George Fox University men’s tennis team as they picked up their first win of the 2009 season, despite playing short-handed, with a 5-4 victory over the visiting College of Idaho Coyotes Sunday here at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
George Fox took both of the doubles matches that were played but
had to default at No. 3. The Bruins won at No. 1
as Stefan Lagielski and Ralf Schulz knocked off the Coyotes’
Jaron Tietsort and Thomas McMahon 8-5, and at No.2 with Scott
Barnett and Ross Budreau victorious over Garga Caserta and Jon
Weese 8-3.
The Bruins sealed the match by taking the top three
singles. Barnett downed Tietsort 6-1, 6-3 at No.
