Bruins Sail Past Bearcats Saturday

SALEM, Ore. --- It was smooth sailing for the George Fox men's tennis team Saturday, as the Bruins cruised to a 9-0 win over the Bearcats of Willamette in a Northwest Conference match.

The Bruins were quick to strike, as they won all three points in doubles. Ryan Malinowski and Davin Lee had the closest match, as the two freshman secured the win at No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-5.

After the 3-0 lead, the Bruins kept the momentum alive, taking every point in straight sets. Spencer Watanabe stunned Gunnar Lee at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Matt Biggi had the fastest match, as the freshman posted a clean sheet at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Jacob Farmer and Tristen Lerma also grabbed wins late in the match at No. 5 and 6 singles.

What It Means:
The Bruins improve to 8-6 on the season and 6-3 in the NWC.

The Bruins take on the top-ranked Boxers of Pacific Sunday, April 9, with the match starting at 12p.m.
