CSU-NORTHRIDGE MULTI-EVENTS: Bruins Nate Dillow Takes 2nd in CSUN Heptathlon
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – With an NCAA Division III
provisional qualifying score of 6,161 points, Nate Dillow of George
Fox University finished second in the California State
University-Northridge Spring Break Multi-Events heptathlon held
here Thursday and Friday at the Matador Track & Field Complex.
Dillow topped the provisional standard of 6,050 points, winning
the 110 meter hurdles (15.56) while posting seconds in the 400
meter dash (50.88) and discus (119-10/36.54) and a third in the
1500 meter run (4:35.24). The only athlete to
finish ahead of him was Mike Hernandez of California Polytechnic
Institute-Pomona.
Dillow’s twin brother David placed eighth in the meet with
5,816 points and Adam Haldorson was 10th for the Bruins with
5,423. David Dillow posted seconds in the pole
vault (13-7.25/4.15) and 1500 (4:34.77) and a third in the 400
(51.32). Haldorson’s best event was the
javelin, in which he took third (144-6/44.05).
Coming up for the Bruins while on their spring break trip is the
Point Loma Collegiate Scoring Invitational at Point Loma Nazarene
University in San Diego, Calif., on Saturday, March 28, with the
first events set for 10:00 a.m.
