MXC: Eberhart Earns BAA Weekly Honors for Second Time This Fall

NEWBERG, Ore. - For earning All-West Region honors for the third time in his career in the NCAA Division III West Regional men's cross country race on Nov. 14, Cam Eberhart has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Men's Athlete of the Week for Nov. 9-15.

Eberhart was the only Bruin to compete in either of the men's or women's regional races, posting a time of 26:45.43 over the 8K course in his final college event to finish 25th.  The top 35 finishers in the regional meets earn All-Region honors.  It was the 12th-best mark among runners from the Northwest Conference.  He was an All-West Region performer with a 31st-place finish as a freshman in 2006 and a 26th-place finish as a sophomore in 2007.

During the season, Eberhart competed in all six races on the Bruins' schedule and led the team in every one of them.  His best finish was a 9th-place standing in the Willamette Grass Course 7.1K event on Sept. 18.  On Oct. 3, he ran a 25:30.47 in the Cardinal 8K race at the 35th Annual Charles Bowles Invitational, moving into 15th place on the Bruins' all-time list. 

Eberhart was also named the BAA Athlete of the Week for Sept. 14-20, and received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week three times this season. 

The Athlete of the Week Award for both men and women is presented throughout the Bruin sports seasons by the Bruin Athletic Association, whose mission is to provide George Fox student-athletes with an outstanding athletic and academic experience and to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the Bruin athletics program.  For more information about the organization or to become a member, visit the Bruin Athletic Association website.
