- Thur., Mar. 17, 2:00 pm - vs. Willamette University (2), Newberg, Ore.
- Sat., Mar. 19, 1:00 pm - at Pacific Lutheran University (2), Parkland, Wash.
NEWBERG, Ore. - This was supposed to be a week of rest and recuperation for the George Fox softball team, but with several rainouts rescheduled, the Bruins find themselves with a home doubleheader Thursday at 2:00 p.m. vs. Willamette and at Pacific Lutheran in Parkland, Wash., Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
The Bruins last played on Friday, Mar. 11, splitting a makeup twinbill at Puget Sound, then were washed out of Northwest Conference doubleheaders vs. Willamette both Saturday and Sunday. Thursday’s games will recover half of the Willamette series, but no makeup date for the other two have been set. The PLU games were postponed from Feb. 26.
The next originally-scheduled games for the Bruins will be Wednesday, Mar. 23, at home vs. Northwest Christian in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 12:00 noon.
George Fox enters Thursday’s doubleheader with a 6-10 overall record and stands seventh in the NWC at 1-5. Willamette’s Bearcats are 3-7 overall and 3-5, in fifth place, in the conference. PLU’s Lutes are 9-4 overall and 8-1 in the league, tied for first with No. 1-ranked Linfield, whom they defeated 10-2 in their first meeting on Mar. 12 (the second game of the day was suspended by darkness).
