Nik Kujacznski will enter his second season under head coach John Smith, serving primary with the throwers (weight throw, hammer, shot put, and discus).
Kujacznski also teaches in the Health and Human Performance department here at George Fox.
He recently was working with Mercer University’s track and field and cross country teams while pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. While at Mercer, his students broke 13 school records in one season.
Kujacznski worked as an Assistant Coach with the USATF Youth club Throw One Deep in Marietta alongside head throws Coach Mike Judge and Ronda Broome. He was the lead Instructor for Discus and Javelin events during the annual summer camps 4 years from 2012-2015.
He earned his masters degree in leadership while overseeing all the throwing events at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. He helped guide four throwers to break 41 school records in t10 events in only 26 meets from 2011-2013. Shorter University won back-to-back Men's Outdoor Track and Field NAIA national championships from 2011-2012, while their women's team won their first National Championship by claiming the NCCAA Indoor nationals crown in 2013.
Nik designed the Shorter Throws Center, a seven-acre facility, which Shorter uses to facilitate practices and meets and hosted the throwing events for the NCCAA Track and Field outdoor National championships in May 2014 and 2015.
While earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and physical education, he competed under former world record holder and Olympic gold medalists Mac Wilkins to become a two-time NAIA national champion in the discus in 2008 and 2009. Kujacznski was a five-time collegiate All-American in addition to being the former all-time Oregon small college discus record holder and Cascade Conference Athlete of the Year in 2008. Prior to Concordia, he competed internationally for the USA while placing 17th at the World Junior Championships in Grosseto, Italy in 2004. He was California State Discus Champion in 2003 and the number one Ranked high school Senior in the USA during that time, he owns the all time best Central Coast Section discus record of 204'10" while throwing for Los Gatos High School under the tutelage of coach Ron McKee. He will be inducted into the LGHS Athletic Hall of Fame in April 2016.
