WBSK: Kuenzi Named BAA Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Weekly Honors

NEWBERG, Ore. - The most consistent player on George Fox's two-game road trip to California over the Thanksgiving holidays, Elise Kuenzi has been named the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week and received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 23-29.

In a 59-46 win over Chapman in a game played at California Lutheran on Nov. 27, Kuenzi led the Bruins with 12 points on 5-10 from the field, including 2-4 three-pointers, with nine rebounds and three steals.  In a 54-48 upset loss at Cal Lutheran on Nov. 29, she scored 13 points on 3-11 from the field (2-4 on threes) and 5-7 from the line, with six rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one blocked shot.  For the week, she totaled 25 points (12.5 ppg) on 8-21 field goals (.381), including 4-8 threes (.500), and 5-7 free throws (.714), 15 rebounds (7.5 rpg), four steals, one assist, and one blocked shot.

Kuenzi, a senior forward from Silverton, Ore., currently ranks 5th in 3-pt field goal pct. (.389), 10th in rebounding (6.6 rpg), 3-pt field goals (1.40 pg) and steals (1.80), and 26th in scoring (8.2) in the Northwest Conference.  She was a two-time Bruin Athletic Association Athlete of the Week and honorable mention for NWC Student-Athlete of the Week once last year.
