* Recent Games: Bruins Win Twice to Complete 25-0 Regular Season

Feb. 17 - at George Fox 66, Linfield 52

Scoring 15 straight points, all on three-pointers, late in the first half, the Bruins broke open a close game and went on to a 66-52 win over the Linfield Wildcats, clinching their sixth Northwest Conference women’s basketball title outright.  A three by Arianna Mohsenian and a layup by Keisha Gordon got the Bruins off to a 5-0 start, but the Wildcats clawed back into it with four straight buckets.  Jami Roos tied it 8-8 with a Bruin three with 15:24 left in the half, and over the next seven minutes, the Bruins maintained a slight advantage.  Leading 23-22 with 8:07 to go, the Bruins caught fire with consecutive treys from Megan Arnoldy, Dacia Heckendorf, Gordon, and two by Roos, boosting their lead to 38-22 with 4:57 left.  A layup by Gordon gave the home team a 43-27 lead at the intermission. Gordon scored to open the second half, giving George Fox its largest lead of 18 points at 45-27, but with Gretchen Owens, the conference’s leading scorer, scoring nine points in a seven-minute span, the Wildcats climbed back into the game and trimmed the Bruins’ lead to single digits for the first time in the period at 52-43 with 9:47 left.  Roos answered with another Bruin three 30 seconds later, and the lead never dipped below double figures again.  The Bruins twice got the lead back up to 17 in the final three minutes, the last at 66-49 with 2:25 left on a layup by Hannah Munger.  Roos led the Bruins with 17 points, hitting 5-9 on threes, and Gordon added 13, giving her 1,604 career points and moving her within 25 of Melody Groeneveld-McMaster’s school-record 1,629.  Gordon and Munger grabbed nine rebounds apiece, while Munger extended her school record for blocked shots to 292 with four more.  Mohsenian had a game-high six assists

Feb. 18 - George Fox 75, at Pacific Lutheran 59

Securing their second undefeated regular season in the last four years, the Bruins built up a big lead and then held off the feisty Pacific Lutheran Lutes for a 75-59 win.  The first half of the game was tight for over 12 minutes, with nine lead changes and two ties during that time.  Breezy Rinehart-Young broke a 21-21 deadlock with a driving layup and ignited a 9-0 Bruin run, capped by a Kylee Parker jumper, that made it 30-21 with 3:22 to play.  After a PLU basket broke the string, the Bruins reeled off nine more in a row to close the half on three-pointers by Keisha Gordon, Dacia Heckendorf and Parker, taking a 39-23 lead into the break.  The Bruins surged to a 23-point lead of 53-30 six minutes into the final period following a Jami Roos trey, but the Lutes would not go away, using a 21-5 run to trim the deficit to 58-51 with five minutes remaining.  Jami Roos slowed the Lutes’ comeback with a layup and free throw to get the lead back to double digits at 61-51 with 4:53 left.  The Lutes twice cut it to nine, the last at 63-54 on a layup by Potter with 3:38 remaining, before the Bruins finally salted the game away with a 6-0 run over the next two minutes, five of the points by Gordon.   Four Bruins scored in double figures, led by Gordon, whose 16 points raised her career total to 1,620, second all-time at George Fox.  Mohsenian added 15 points, Roos 11, and Hannah Munger 10, including 8-10 free throws.  Munger just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.  Megan Arnoldy had three assists, and Gordon made five steals, extending her Bruin career record to 271, as the Bruins forced 23 PLU turnovers.
