NEWBERG, Ore. --- Sophomore Janelle Decker was named Northwest Conference Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week after earning her first collegiate win at the Willamette Spring Thaw.

Decker went wire-to-wire at the Willamette Spring Thaw April 14-15, as she carded a 78-81 – 159 to win by one stroke. She held the one stroke advantage over Maggie Peters of Whitworth, who finished second with a 160. Decker becomes the third member of the Bruins' team to earn a NWC weekly honor this season.

The Bruins are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation and are crowd favorites for the NWC Championships hosted at Tacoma Country Club in Tacoma, Washington, April 22-23.
