Bruins Down Pirates In Final Non Conference Game

NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's lacrosse team put on a show Friday afternoon, as the Bruins beat the Pirates of Southwestern University (Texas) in a nonconference game, 12-3.

Recap:
The Bruins endured the ferocious winds early on, scoring the first six goals of the game. Five different Bruins got in on the action, as Emma Fanger was the lone Bruin to net two in the opening six goals.

The Bruins went into the half with a 7-1 lead.

The second half was similar to the first, as the Bruins offensive prowess was shown on the field. Miranda Edwords was the first to fire off a goal in the second half after six minutes of play. Fanger completed her hat trick with 16 minutes left to give the Bruins an eight goal differential, 9-1. Southwestern was able to sneak two late goals, but the Bruins walked away with the 12-3 victory.

Top Performers:
Fanger and Edwords both scored three goals apiece. Madison Strickland netted two, as did Christine Doherty. Mikaela Easterlin played all 60 minutes, recording eight saves on 11 shots.

What It Means:
The Bruins are now 7-2 on the season.

What Comes Next:
Northwest Conference play will resume Sunday, April 9, as the Bruins take on Whitman at 12p.m.
