MCMINNVILLE, Ore. --- The George Fox women's lacrosse team made the short trip to Linfield Tuesday for a Northwest Conference matchup against the Wildcats, earning an easy 19-2 win.
Jess Hanson scored in the fourth minute on another assist by Edwords.
Linfield was able to find the back of the net with just over 20 minutes remaining to cut the Bruin lead to just one.
A goal by Edwords two minutes later widened the gap and began an 11-goal run for the Bruins. Jennifer Burke, Madison Strickland, Hanson, and Edwords all recorded goals as the first half came to a close with George Fox in firm control of the game, 13-1.
The Bruins kept it coming in the second half, going on a three-goal run in the opening six minutes.
The Wildcats scored one more in the seventh minute but it wasn't near enough as another three goals from the Bruins secured the victory, 19-2.
Hanson led the offense in this one, scoring a whopping five goals on only six shots. Edwords made a major contribution with three goals to go along with two assists; Burke and Strickland finished with three apiece as well.
