WSOC: McKinsey Advances on Career Lists to Garner BAA Weekly Award

NEWBERG, Ore. - Jenny McKinsey moved up on the George Fox career lists for goals and points with a game-winning goal at Lewis & Clark, earning the Bruin Athletic Association Women's Athlete of the Week award for Oct. 26-Nov. 1, the second time  this season she has been so honored.  She also received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time.

McKinsey's goal in the 31st minute of the Nov. 1 game in Portland off an assist from Jamie Peressini was the only score of the game as the Bruins snapped a five-game losing and scoreless streak with the 1-0 win over the Pioneers.  It was her seventh goal of the season, tying her with Kirsten Cardwell for the team lead, and the 30th of her career, breaking a tie for third on the Bruin career list with Brooke (Pitner) Erickson.  Coupled with a Bruin-record 20 career assists, she now has 80 total points after passing Gegi Bonera's 79 and is second only to Karli Holub' 102 points.  She led the Bruins in shots for the week with five vs. Lewis & Clark and three, two on goal, in a 4-0 loss to 5th-ranked Puget Sound on Oct. 31.

McKinsey, a First Team All-Conference performer last year, ranks 3rd in the NWC in shots (67), and is tied for 6th in goals (7) and 7th in points (19).  The senior from Spokane, Wash., was also named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII College Division Women's Soccer Second Team during the week.
