The Bruins look to get back on the winning track this weekend after three straight losses, including a 2-0 setback at Willamette in their first road game of the season after seven straight at home to open the season.  The Bruins visit Lewis & Clark Saturday in a game set for 10 a.m. due to the Pioneers’ Homecoming football game also scheduled for L&C’s Griswold Stadium later in the afternoon.  On Sunday, the Bruins return to the Austin Sports Complex to host defending conference champion Puget Sound, which has been nationally ranked most of the season.  Both games are Northwest Conference contests.

Multimedia:  Lewis & Clark will provide live video streaming via Stretch Internet for Saturday’s game with the Bruins at http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/lclark.portal#.  George Fox will provide live stats for its home match with Puget Sound on Sunday; the link is posted above.

Tickets:  Ticket prices for George Fox soccer matches at the Austin Sports Complex, which is located at the corner of Villa Rd. and Crestview Dr. a mile north of the main campus, are $6 for adults and $3 for non-GFU students and seniors 55 and over.  Children 6 and under who are not in school are free.  George Fox faculty, staff, and students are admitted free with valid GFU ID; the ID covers immediate family members for George Fox employees.

The Pios have lost their last four, all conference games, including a 3-0 setback at Linfield on Sunday ... Puget Sound (6-1-1, NWC 3-1, 3rd): The Loggers from Tacoma, Wash., were picked 1st unanimously in the NWC pre-season poll, the Bruins 8th ... After suffering their first loss of the season 4-0 at Whitworth on Saturday, the Loggers bounced back to win 1-0 at Whitman on Sunday ... The Loggers have won the last four meetings with the Bruins and are 21-0-1 since the Bruins last beat them 1-0 in Newberg on Oct. 10, 1998 ...  Sun., Sept. 26 - L 1-2 at Willamette

In their first road game of the season, the Bruins fell behind 2-0 in the first half at Willamette and wound up with a 2-1 loss to the Bearcats.  Melanie Gaither picked up her first goal of the season, scoring for the Bruins with 21 minutes left in the game.  The Bruins limited the Bearcats to only four shots on goal, with keeper Alyssa Montero making two saves.

* Gaither Honorable Mention for NWC Offensive Honors

Scoring her first goal of the season, George Fox forward Melanie Gaither received honorable mention for Northwest Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 20-26.  Her unassisted goal with 21 minutes left in the game brought the Bruins within one in an eventual 2-1 loss at Willamette on Oct. 26.  A sophomore from Vancouver, Wash., and transfer who played at California Baptist, she is third on the team in total shots (9).

Andy Hetherington (St. John's, U.K., '76) is 58-96-8 (.383) in his 9th season as the women's soccer coach at George Fox.
