Cory Hand Becomes Only Third Coach in History of Women’s Soccer at George Fox
NEWBERG, Ore. – Cory Hand, the director of the Girls Youth Development Westside Timbers program and a staff member of the Portland Timbers Olympic Development Program, has been named the new head women’s soccer coach at George Fox University, becoming only the third coach in the 22-year history of the sport at the school.

Hetherington Announces Resignation from George Fox after 11 Women’s Soccer Seasons
NEWBERG, Ore. – After 11 seasons as head coach of the women’s soccer team at George Fox University, Andy Hetherington has resigned from the Bruins’ program to concentrate on his work as executive director of the Northside Community Health Clinic, which provides free dental and medical health care for the uninsured of north Portland.

Gaither Closes Career as Bruin Athlete of the Week, HM for NWC Offensive Honors
NEWBERG, Ore. – After missing two weeks with a leg injury, George Fox University forward Melanie Gaither came back with a game-winning goal and was named the Bruin Women’s Athlete of the Week for Oct. 29-Nov. 4, along with receiving honorable mention for the Northwest Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

ALL-NWC: Bruins’ Beaudry, Gaither, Harder Receive All-Northwest Conference Honors
NEWBERG, Ore. – A trio of George Fox University Bruins - defender Corin Beaudry for Second Team honors, and forward Melanie Gaither and midfielder Esther Harder as honorable mention - have received All-Northwest Conference Women’s Soccer accolades for their 2012 performances as voted on by the league’s nine coaches.

NWC POLL: Bruins Picked 8th in 2012 NWC Women’s Soccer Pre-Season Coaches’ Poll
NEWBERG, Ore. - Coming off a 2-12-6 record in 2011, it is understandable that George Fox University has been picked to finish eighth in the Northwest Conference women's soccer race in 2012, according to a pre-season poll of the league’s nine coaches - but if the Bruins can turn their overtime games (0-2-6) into wins, they could be the surprise team of the fall.
