McMinnville, Ore. --- The George Fox women's soccer team traveled to Linfield to take on the Wildcats Sunday afternoon in a tight 1-0 loss.

The Bruins out-shot the Wildcats 10-4 in the first half, but weren't able to convert on any of their attempts. Cassie Wilson's attempt in the third minute was saved by Linfield goalie Sarah Bailey. Hannah Harder also had an attempt saved early in the half and two more Bruin attempts were blocked. Just before half time, Stephanie Wilson's attempt sailed wide, and the two teams went to the locker room tied at 0-0.

In the second half, the Bruins and Wildcats stayed scoreless until the 64th minute when Linfield's Shelby Derocher was able to find the back of the net to give the home team a 1-0 advantage.

Harder had two more attempts miss wide for the Bruins, and goalie Kelsey Kammerzell saved a Linfield attempt to keep George Fox within striking distance. The Wildcats' defense clamped down in the last five minutes keeping the Bruins chances to a minimum, and Linfield hung on to capture the 1-0 victory.
