A Winning Tradition

NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's soccer team began home play Friday night with an explosive 4-1 victory over Beloit College.
The Bruins started fast against the visiting team, getting off six shots in just the first ten minutes of play.
George Fox managed to score in the 37th minute as star forward Emma Logan beat her defender on the backline to net her first goal of the season, putting the Bruins up by one.
Just under two minutes later freshman midfielder Abby Anderson scored her first goal for the Bruins, setting the score at 2-0.
George Fox took a grand total of 19 shots to Beloit's zero, capping off what was a beautiful half of soccer.
Again, the Bruins came out aggressive with a shot against the defense in just the first 30 seconds of play.
Beloit scored on a corner kick in the 51st minute to narrow the Bruins' lead to just one.
Logan continued her stellar play with a spectacular goal in the 70th minute after beating her defender from the left side, setting the score at 3-1.
The game ended with George Fox victorious, 4-1.
The Bruin offense shined in this one, as an impressive eight players tallied more than one shot on goal. Logan led the charge with two goals and three shots, while Anderson and Bravo found the back of the net as well to sum up the scoring. Chloe Shumaker and Allie Day also contributed five and four shots, respectively. Overall, the Bruins took 29 shots, 14 on goal, to Beloit's four.
What It Means:
The Bruins are now 1-1 on the season.

The Bruins look to capitalize on their stellar victory with a Saturday night home game against Hamline at 6:00pm.
