George Fox to Host USTA Pacific Northwest Juniors Champs Tournament May 26-28
NEWBERG, Ore. - Over 180 of the top juniors from around the Pacific Northwest, including the No. 1-ranked player in the nation in the Boys’ 14 section, will converge on Newberg this weekend as George Fox University plays host to the United States Tennis Association’s George Fox University Juniors Champs Tournament Saturday-Monday, May 26-28.

ALL-CONFERENCE: Beaumont First Team, Griffith Honorable Mention for All-NWC
NEWBERG, Ore. - Two key players in the George Fox University Bruins’ second-winningest season in history have been accorded 2012 All-Northwest Conference women’s tennis accolades as Molly Beaumont was selected to the First Team and Cara Griffith received honorable mention in balloting by the league’s nine coaches.

GEORGE FOX 5, WILLAMETTE 4: Bruins Complete Win over Bearcats Five Days Later
NEWBERG, Ore. - With the score tied and one match left, Alissandra Wittrig gave the George Fox University Bruins a 5-4 upset of the regionally-ranked Willamette University Bearcats with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles in the completion of a rain-suspended Northwest Conference women’s tennis match Sunday here at the GFU campus courts.

Beaumont Earns BAA, NWC Athlete of the Week Honors after Going 4-0 in Two Matches
NEWBERG, Ore. - Winning all four of her matches as the George Fox University Bruins went 1-1, Molly Beaumont has been named both the Bruin Athletic Association Women’s Athlete of the Week and the Northwest Conference Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for Apr. 2-8, the first women’s tennis player from George Fox to do so this season.

Bruins-Bearcats Suspended by Rain after Doubles Play, to be Completed on Sunday
NEWBERG, Ore. - With the doubles completed and George Fox University ahead 2-1, rain washed out all of the singles early in the first sets and forced a postponement of the Northwest Conference women’s tennis match between the Bruins and the Willamette University Bearcats Wednesday afternoon here at the GFU campus courts.
