Bruins Drop Close One To SCAD - Atlanta

ORLANDO, Fla. --- The George Fox women's tennis team continued its spring break trip Friday, as the Bruins competed with SCAD – Atlanta on the USTA National Campus, dropping a close 6-3 match.

The Bruins dropped an early point in doubles at the No. 3 spot, but battled back at No. 1 with Sarah Tuemmler and Andrea Motley playing with some grit. The Bruin duo was unfazed by their competition, giving the Bruins their lone point in doubles with an 8-6 victory.

SCAD made it tough for the Bruins to mount a comeback in singles, but Ellen Pearson secured a point at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-2 straight set win. Motley was the final Bruin to earn a point at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 advantage.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will look to bounce back Sunday, March, 26, against P.R. – Mayaguez at 7p.m. The school is located in Puerto Rico and is an affiliate of NCAA Division II. The Bulldogs have competed in the NCAA since 2003 and have 28 sports.
