Newberg, Ore. --- The George Fox women's tennis team hosted the Wildcats of Linfield College Tuesday afternoon, as the Bruins fell to the second-best Northwest Conference team, 7-2.
The Bruins didn't get off to a strong start in the match after dropping two points in doubles. Sarah Tuemmler and Andrea Motley had a competitive match at No. 1 singles, but fell in a long, tough match, 8-6. Catrina Kwong and Kristen Mock also a close match at No. 2 singles, but dropped the match 8-4. Taylor Barnes and Ilsa Teppo were the bright spot in the lineup, as they took down Marisa Doveri and Michelle Ly at No. 3 singles, 9-7.
In singles, the Bruins had to climb up hill with the early 2-1 deficit. Ellen Pearson provided relief at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win. The 'Cats were able to grab the rest of the points and take the match at 7-2.
What It Means:
The Bruins fall to 11-8 on the season and 7-4 in the Northwest Conference. The Bruins are still fourth in the NWC and are two games ahead of fifth place.

The Bruins finish their season against Lewis & Clark College Friday, April 14, at 4p.m.
