HILLSBORO --- After an electrifying start for the George Fox baseball team, Jason Garcia has been named Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance in Arizona.

Garcia, a junior outfielder from Bend, Oregon, went 10-14 at the plate over the four-game span, hitting a team-high .714 at the plate. He not only leads the team, but the NWC in batting average (.714), on-base percentage (.733), and slugging percentage (1.214). His eight RBIs over the weekend is tied for first in the conference with teammate Kyler Brudwick. He finished with two doubles, one triple, one home run and six runs scored while maintaining a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in center field.

This marks Garcia's first honor as an NWC Student-Athlete of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week selection.

The Bruins continue their February road trip with three games in Demorest, Georgia, from Feb. 15-17. The first pitch against Millsaps on Friday, Feb. 15, is set for 12 pm (PST).
