HILLSBORO --- In the final week of the Northwest Conference Student-Athletes of the Week, the George Fox football team placed Anthony Garcia and Justin Montijo on the list.

Garcia and Montijo played significant roles in the Bruins' 62-48 slugfest against the Loggers of Puget Sound. The pair helped the Bruins record their third straight winning season and break two school records on the day. The Bruins' 62 points marked the most in the program's history and the combination of 110 points also broke a school record.

Garcia was named NWC Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week, while Montijo was selected as the NWC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Garcia averaged 37.3 yards per kick return and recorded a 92-yard kickoff return against the Loggers in the third quarter. He finished the day with four returns for 149 yards. He also was recently named to the All-NWC team as a second-team selection.

Montijo's pick-six for 53 yards gave the Bruins a 34-13 lead with two minutes left in the first half. Montijo finished the game with two interceptions and three tackles on the day.
