Bruins In Fourth On Day One of NWC Championship

SUNRIVER, Ore. --- The George Fox men's golf team kicked off day one of the Northwest Conference Championships in contention, as the Bruins hold firm at fourth on Saturday.

The Bruins shot a team score of 312 and are six strokes out of third place and 12 strokes off of second. Willamette shot a 298 to lead the tournament, while Whitworth is in second with a 300 and Pacific Lutheran is in third with a 306.

Zach Mode led the Bruins on day one with a 75 on the scorecard to take T-5th. Alex Plusquellec shot a 76 to place T-10th, while Brandon Sutton shot a 77 to take T-15th. Caleb An signed an 84 to finish T-33rd and Mason Mueller shot a 90 to take 42nd.

Jacob Bell of Lewis & Clark and Peter Mitzel of Willamette led the field with a score of 71 to T-1st.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will look to make up some ground on Sunday in the final round of the NWC Championship with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m.
