Bruins Take Fifth In NWC Championship

A Winning Tradition

  • One NWC Player of the Year (Alex Plusquellec, 2017-18)

SUNRIVER, Ore. --- The George Fox men's golf team shot 11 strokes better on the final day of the Northwest Conference Championship, but finished fifth out of the nine teams.

The Bruins finished with a 312-301=613 to take fifth, while Linfield edged the Bruins by one stroke (314-298=612). Whitworth won the tournament with a team score of 300-293=593 and Pacific Lutheran finished in second with a 306-288=594. Willamette was the last team on the podium in third with a score of 298-300=598.

Zach Mode was stellar in day two moving up a couple spots to finish T-3rd with a 75-70=145. With his performance he earned an All-NWC first team honor. Alex Plusquellec signed back-to-back 76's to shot a 152 and place T-12th. Brandon Sutton finished T-18th with a 77-78=155, while Caleb An took 36th with an 84=80=164. Mason Mueller finished 39th with a 90-77=167.

Andrew Dodge of Whitworth won the tournament with a 72-68=140 to become Player of the Year.
