Bruins In Second After First Day of Willamette Valley Cup

CORVALLIS --- The George Fox men's golf team didn't disappoint on Saint Patrick's Day Saturday, as the Bruins found plenty of green at the Willamette Valley Cup.


The Bruins finished the first round with a team score of 301 to place second behind Willamette, who shot a 289 team score. Linfield is in third with a 308, Pacific (Ore.) is in fourth with a 311 and Lewis & Clark is in fifth with a 342.

Mason Koch is the tournament leader after the first 18 holes with an even-par 71, while Alex Plusquellec signed a 3-over-par 74 to finish tied for seventh. Mason Mueller and Tanner Washburn both shot a 7-over-par 78 to place T-11th. Clayton Rajewich carded a 79 and is T-16th. Joshua Lackey competed as an individual and is tied with Rajewich at 16th with a 79 on the card.

The Bruins will look to make moves against Willamette Sunday, March 18 in the final round of the Willamette Valley Cup.
