Bruins Finish Third At NWC Spring Classic

SPOKANE --- The George Fox men's golf team finished atop the leaderboard at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic, Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins placed third out of nine teams.

Recap:

The Bruins were three strokes off of second place and five strokes off of first place after the final round. Pacific Lutheran won the tournament with a 299-299=598, Whitworth edged the Bruins for second with a 299-301=600 and George Fox took home third with a 301-302=603.

Alex Plusquellec was close to earning medalist honors for the Bruins, as the senior finished second out of 44 golfers. He shot a 73-70=143 to lead the Bruins and capture his eighth top-10 finish of the season. Clayton Rajewich and Mason Koch both finished tied for ninth with a total score of 151. Rajewich shot a 75-76, while Koch recorded a 74-77.

Joshua Lackey placed T-21st with back-to-back 79's for a 158 and Mason Mueller shot back-to-back 80's for a 160 to take T-25th.

Whitworth's Keegan Loo earned medalist honors with a 142 total score.

The Bruins will play at the Spring Thaw April 14-15.
