Bruins Look To Finish Strong At NWC Championships

A Winning Tradition

  • One NWC Player of the Year (Alex Plusquellec, 2017-18)
  • Two Division III PING All-Region Team
  • Six All-NWC Athletes

NEWBERG --- Trailing first place by only one point in the Northwest Conference standings, the George Fox men's golf team looks to finish strong at the NWC Championships April 21-22.

The Bruins enter the final tournament of the regular season with 13 points in the NWC standings. Pacific Lutheran holds the top spot with 14 points, while Whitworth and Willamette sit tied for third with 12 points.

It's been quite the year for the men's golf team, as they recorded a program-best second place finish at the NWC Fall Classic and a third-place finish at the NWC Spring Classic. They also have two players inside the top-150 among NCAA Division III golfers.

Mason Koch holds a 74.23 adjusted scoring average to sit at 63rd in the nation, while Alex Plusquellec averages a 75.00 per 18-holes to sit at 109th in the nation. George Fox and Pacific Lutheran are the only teams to put two players inside the top-150 among the conference.

The Bruins will also rely on Mason Mueller, Joshua Lackey and Clayton Rajewich to make a move at the NWC Championships.

The NWC Championships will be held in Tacoma, Washington, at the Oakbrook Golf Club April 21-22. Last year, the Bruins finished seventh at the NWC Championship and an overall finish of sixth in the NWC standings.
