Bruins Finish Third At George Fox Invite

GEARHART --- The George Fox men's golf team capped off the final round of the George Fox Invite with a third-place finish, Sunday afternoon.


The Bruins made the podium after posting a 301-309=610 team score. Willamette won the tournament with a 293-293=586, while Linfield came in second with a 297-298=595 team score. Pacific (Ore.) finished with a 650 to place fourth, Lewis & Clark finished fifth with a 655, and Whitman finished sixth with a 685.

Mason Koch was the top finisher for the Bruins, firing off a 71-76=147 to finish third. Caleb An and Joshua Lackey both placed T-10th with a 153 total two-day score. Clayton Rajewich shot an 81 on the final day and placed T-17th with a 157 total. Caleb Fernandez rounded out the scoring for the Bruins with an 80-91=171. Dante Heitschmidt was the top individual for the Bruins, as the freshman posted an 82-81=163 to place T-19th. Kory Hunn shot a 170 total and placed T-25th, while Nathaniel Gurnee and Zach Gruginski finished with a 171 to place T-27th.

Trent Jones of Willamette came back to earn medalist honors with a 71-71=142.

What Comes Next:

The Bruins will have their first leg of the Northwest Conference Tournament Oct. 13-14. The NWC Fall Classic marks the first conference tournament of the season.
