Bruins In Fourth After First Round of NWC Fall Classic

McMINNVILLE --- The George Fox men's golf team is within reach after the first round of the Northwest Conference Fall Classic, hosted at Michelbook Country Club.

Recap:

The Bruins finished the first day with a 306-team score to finish 11-strokes off the leader. Whitworth holds the top spot with a 295-team score and a three-stroke edge over second place Pacific Lutheran (298). Willamette is in third with a 302-team score and holds a four-stroke lead over the Bruins.

Joshua Lackey had the best day for the Bruins, as the sophomore sits in second place with a 1-under-par 71. Lackey recorded the Bruins' lone eagle on the day on hole 11 to shoot 2-under-par on the back nine. Mason Koch is tied for fourth with a 1-over-par 73, while Clayton Rajewich shot a 78 to place T-19th. Dante Heitschmidt is T-30th with an 84 and Caleb An signed an 88 to place T-38th.

Jordan Brajcich of Pacific Lutheran leads the field with a 4-under-par 68.

The Bruins will look to move up the leaderboard Sunday, Oct. 14, in the final round of the NWC Fall Classic.
