A Winning Tradition
BEAVERTON, Ore. --- The George Fox men's tennis team swept the visiting Cowboys of Hardin-Simmons at Tualatin Hills Tennis Center, Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins kicked off their 9-0 victory with a dominating performance in doubles. Spencer Watanabe and William Leach were the first to finish their match at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Alex Hunt and Jordan Davis. Alex Namba and Payton Namba teamed up at the No. 2 spot and defeated Holt Fields and Chandler Livingston, 8-2, while Jonah Wafula and Justin Barton cleaned up at No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 win.
With the 3-0 lead heading into singles action, the Bruins made sure to keep the momentum going. All six Bruins came away with straight set sweeps, as P. Namba was the first to finish his day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Watanabe was the next Bruin to close out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot. Leach and A. Namba came in big with the sixth and seventh points for the Bruins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Nick Ekern and Wafula closed out the match to keep the Bruins perfect on the day.

The Bruins are now 2-0 on the season.
