HILLSBORO --- With the 2019 season underway, the Northwest Conference has announced George Fox's Luke Lemaitre as the NWC Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance against NCAA Division I Portland State.

This marks the second week of the NWC Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week award, as Pacific Lutheran's Michael Campbell earned the honor for the week ending on Feb. 4.

Lemaitre, a freshman from Portland, Oregon, was the standout for the Bruins against the Vikings. Lemaitre grabbed the Bruins' lone point in the 6-1 loss, winning at No. 2 singles on a come-from-behind victory. He dropped the first set 2-6 but rallied to take the next two, 6-2, 6-3. He teamed up with Will Leach in doubles at the No. 1 spot and jumped out to a 4-0 lead before falling 6-4 to the Vikings' No. 1 team.

This marks Lemaitre's first honor as an NWC Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Bruins are back in action at home on Thursday, Feb. 14 against NCAA Div. I Idaho at 4 pm.
