NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox softball team started out red hot in the final doubleheader against Whitworth Sunday, but the weather played a factor as the series is put on hold for a later date.

After an hour rain delay, both teams were able to take the field. Madison Sorensen made quick use of her time, as the senior put down the side with a groundout and two strikeouts. The Bruins were able to open up the scoring in the second inning, as Annie Veatch hit her fourth home run of the season over the right-field fence to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead. After the home run, the Bruins recorded another hit before play was halted due to rain. An hour late the game was called and will pick back up where it left off at a later time.

What Come Next:

The Bruins will look to find another date to pick back up the final two games of the NWC series against the Whitworth Pirates.
