Meyer Named Google Cloud Academic All-America®

NEWBERG --- George Fox softball sophomore Allison Meyer was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III Softball Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Tuesday.  

Meyer becomes the first softball player to earn the prestigious Academic All-America® honor after holding a cumulative 4.00 GPA as an elementary education major.

The Division III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 Division III Academic All-America® teams.

Meyer, a sophomore from Minden, Nevada, earns a second-team honor on the Academic All-America® Team. Meyer was deadly at the plate all season for the Bruins with a team-best 15 home runs, while finishing second in the nation in home runs. She was third in the Northwest Conference in RBIs (29), second in slugging percentage (.855) and was named an All-NWC honorable mention.
