HILLSBORO --- Six George Fox softball players have been named All-Northwest Conference, as announced by the conference office on Monday, April 29.

2019 All-NWC Team

The Bruins had two players named All-NWC First Team, two players named All-NWC Second Team, and two named All-NWC Honorable Mention.

For the straight season, Roni Braun, Alyssa Gonzalez, Aaliyah Kautz, and Allison Meyer were each named All-NWC. Kimi Ito and Claire Fountain join them with their first career All-NWC honors as the Bruins' six honorees in 2019.

Gonzalez, a senior catcher from Livermore, Calif., picked up her second career All-NWC honor with the first-team selection. Gonzalez led the Bruins at the plate with a .427 batting average – a program single-season record – and a team-high 24 extra-base hits, including five homers, three triples, and 16 doubles. Gonzalez also led the team with 29 walks and a slash line of .427/.536/.726 in her senior campaign. Her single-season slugging average of .726 is tied for second in program history with Braun's mark in 2018.

Meyer, a junior outfielder from Minden, Nev., picked up her second career All-NWC honor with the first-team selection. The Bruins' everyday left fielder hit a career-best .353 with ten doubles and seven homers. Meyer also notched career highs with 35 runs scored, 17 walks drawn, and 47 total hits.

Ito, a senior outfielder from Keizer, Ore., earned her first All-NWC honor with a second-team selection. The Bruins' centerfielder led the team in total hits with a career-high 54 knocks and scored a career-best 40 runs after hitting .383 in her final season as a Bruin. Ito's 14 doubles and .383 average were second only to fellow senior Gonzalez in 2019 for George Fox.

Fountain, a freshman utility player from Turlock, Calif., earned her first All-NWC honor with a second-team selection. Fountain hit .348 in her freshman season with 10 homers. Her 10 bombs were third-best on the team and tied for fifth in the NWC, and her .670 slugging percentage was fourth among Bruin hitters.

Kautz, a junior first baseman from Lacey, Wash., picked up her second career All-NWC honor with the honorable mention. Kautz hit .360 in 2019, fourth-best for all Bruins, and drove in a team-high 44 runs. Kautz' 44 RBI and 13 walks drawn in 2019 were both career-best marks as a Bruin.

Braun, a junior outfielder from Centralia, Wash., picked up her second career All-NWC honor with the honorable mention. Braun, the Bruins' right fielder, led all NWC hitters with 13 homers and hit .346 with a slugging percentage of .708 in 2019. Her 21 extra-base hits – 13 homers and eight doubles – were a career high.
