GREENSBORO --- Aspen Monkhouse represented the George Fox swim team at the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, as she finished 24th out of the 63 competitors in the preliminaries.
Monkhouse, a sophomore from Port Orchard, Washington, became the Bruins' first-ever swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. She entered the field as the 13th fastest swimmer with a time of 23.41, which she set at the Northwest Conference Swim Championships.
She finished 24th out of the 63 swimmers in the women's 50-yard free with a time of 23.68.
"I am really happy with the season and with Aspen's first national's experience," said head coach Natalie Turner. "It was a great experience for her to be here and set new goals for next year. We are already looking forward to next season."
Fiona Muir of Emory won the women's 50-yard free with a time of 22.85.
