VALLEJO, Calif. --- The No. 1 ranked George Fox women's golf team closed out the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Tuesday, as the Bruins placed 10th in the tough NCAA Division II 14-team field.

California Baptist University won the two day tournament with a 295-292-588 team score. They finished 17 strokes ahead of Sonoma State University, who shot a 306-299-605. Barry University, who is the No. 1 ranked team in Div. II shot a 303-306-609 to place third. The Bruins finished with a 326-323-649 to finish ahead of Concordia – OR, Cal State East Bay, St. Martin's University and Metro State University.

Sydney Maluenda led the Bruins with back-to-back 78's to combine for a 156 and take T-18th. Kristin Elich finished T-29th with an 82-79-161, while Iris Kawada signed an 81-82-163 to place T-37th. Madison Perry shot an 85-86-171 to take T-53rd and Rachel Drgastin ended with a 92-84-176 to place T-64th.

Laura Scrivner of Cal Baptist won the tournament with a 73-72-145 to take the individual medalist by two strokes.

What Comes Next:
The Bruins will travel to Peoria, Arizona, March 18-19 to host the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club – Lakes Course.
