CANBY, Ore. --- The No. 2-ranked George Fox women's golf team won the Culturame Classic Sunday afternoon, as the Bruins won by 25 strokes over seven teams.


The Bruins shot a 305-301=606 to win the tournament, while Whitman shot a 326-305=631 to finish second. Whitworth placed third with 334-326=660 and Redlands placed fourth with a 341-325=666.

Kristin Elich won the tournament with a 75-75=150 with a 6-over-par to take the tournament over 44 golfers. She won the tournament on the first playoff hole over Phoebe Nguyen of Whitman College. Janelle Decker finished second with a 75-76=151 to place tied for third, while Iris Kawada tied Decker with a 77-74=151 to take tied for third. Rachel Drgastin finished seventh with an 81-76=157, while Tianna Brown rounded out the Bruins lineup with a 78-82=160 to place T-ninth.

The Bruins will play next at the Northwest Conference Fall Classic Oct. 14-15 at the Quail Valley Golf Course.
